Mission Statement

HOSA, or Health Occupations Students of America, is an international Career Technical Student Organization. HOSA’s mission:

The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community.

Rights & Responsibilities

Program Requirements:

 GPA min 2.0 (maintain after acceptance)

 Attendance & Punctuality 90%

 Community Service 30 hrs / yr

 Appropriate Dress / Uniform: Tue scrubs, Wed Academy T-shirt. Thu Seniors Dress for success

 Appropriate Behavior

Why the Health Academy?

 Daily Teacher Progress – Personalized attention from dedicated academy teachers

 Biweekly Teacher Report of Grades – all HA teacher will post grades at minimum biweekly to inform students of progress in class

 Job Shadow Student Assistance – Teachers enable students to job shadow – increasing their work experience exposure, while not compromising the student’s academic progress

 Mentor Grade Check –2 weeks prior to close of term, to ensure highest progress

 CPR & First-Aid certification –trained to recognize & treat medical emergencies

 Job Shadow / Internship – with medical & health professionals in the area

 Senior Students of Year – receive $500 for post-high school program

 References – from qualified business professionals
